Righteousness for Everyone

Paul writes to the people of the Roman Church, a church which is unique among the other New Testament churches as it was founded with no unifying apostolic leader. Given the great diversity within Rome, how are they to unify now as one church. Paul says the unifying feature is the gospel itself. As Paul said, he was not ashamed of the gospel, and here he demonstrates that confidence in the gospel by addressing one of the Church’s great faith paradoxes, works vs faith.
