The Imitation of Christ

This week Dr. Josh Duff leads us through Philippians 3:17-4:1, exploring what it means to follow in the example of Paul, as he follows in the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. We will consider what it means to imitate Christ, who are the ‘enemies of the cross of Christ’ and why, and how to focus our efforts on the citizenship we have in heaven.

Breaking from the Past and Moving Toward God’s Future

In this message we reflect upon the lives that we leave behind in order to pursue God’s future together. In Philippians 3:1-11 Paul speaks out against the Judaizers and reminds us that our confidence isn’t found in the flesh, it’s found in the Lord. Paul counts all things as a loss compared to the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus, and we too are called to do the same. May the righteousness of our Lord teach us what it means to live by faith. The presence of His Spirit will empower us to know Christ, to grow in Christ together, and to go with Christ into our community and world.

An Example to Follow

Here we continue our study in the book of Philippians by learning from the example of Timothy and Epaphroditus in Philippians 2:19-30. Each of these brothers embraced the mind of Christ as they modeled for us what it means to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel. Let’s receive their lives with joy as we proclaim good news, express genuine concern, and seek the interests of our Lord together from a place of life and vulnerability.

Tremble, Shine & Rejoice

This week we continue our study in the book of Philippians by reflecting upon Paul’s exhortation in Philippians 2:12-18. In this passage we’ll consider the significance of our salvation as we seek to live out what it means to be God’s children. Let us shine like stars in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. Let us hold fast to the word of life as we make our boast in Him; offering ourselves in faith and rejoicing in the life we’ve been given.

The Mind of Christ

Join us this week as we explore one of Pastor Nathan’s favorite passages in the entire New Testament, Philippians 2:1-11. Let us embrace the mind of Christ and learn from His example as we seek to live in a way that exalts our Lord together. May we set aside selfish ambition and vain conceit as we humble ourselves and look to the interests of others. May we live in a manner worthy of the Gospel and may Christ be glorified in and through His church, now and forevermore.

A Manner Worthy of the Gospel

This week we continue our study in the book of Philippians by considering what it means to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ. Through the help of the Holy Spirit may we continue to stand firm upon the foundation that Jesus has provided. May we strive side by side for the sake of the Gospel and live in a way that casts out fear as we proclaim Christ’s love. God truly is doing a good work among us.

An Eternal Perspective

Hope is an incredibly powerful thing, especially when it’s rooted deeply in the Lord. In Philippians 1:18-26 Paul teaches us what it means to live with an eternal perspective and cling to hope even when the future remains uncertain. With the help of the Holy Spirit he rejoices in the Lord and speaks with boldness, recognizing the joy of his deliverance and the fruit of Christ’s ministry unfolding.

Confidence, Courage & the Advancement of the Gospel

This week we continue our study in Philippians by looking at the themes of confidence, courage, and the advancement of the Gospel during Paul’s imprisonment. Suffering is something that all believers will face during different seasons of our lives, but even in the midst of our suffering, God can still bring about His good. Paul was anything but your usual kind of prisoner, and the witness of his life had a profound impact upon those who held him captive, and emboldened others to share the Good News of the Gospel courageously within their context.
