Christ’s Triumphal Procession

This Palm Sunday Pastor David Robinson presents a dramatic monologue, painting a picture of Jesus’ triumphant procession into Jerusalem. Speaking from the perspective of the man who owned the donkey that carried our Lord, Pastor David invites us to join in the cry, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

A Titanic Rescue

Interim Pastor David Robinson’s message is titled ‘A Titanic Rescue’, from Romans 3:21-26. From Romans 1-3, we recall that we all have a ‘Titanic Problem,’ a problem that requires a Titanic Rescue. God comes to rescue us by faith in Jesus Christ. We are rescued freely by God’s grace through what Jesus has done for us on the cross. Pastor David will invite us to Admit we have a Titanic Problem, Believe Jesus offers us a Titanic Rescue, Commit our life to the Lord, and Decide to climb aboard God’s Lifeboat by putting our faith in Jesus our rescuer. This week’s study questions can be found HERE.

Justified by God’s Faithfulness, Not Our Own

We invite you to join us this weekend as we continue our study in Romans 3:1-20 by reflecting upon God’s faithfulness in the midst of our disobedience and His righteousness made evident in our judgment. God has always been so very faithful to us, and it certainly isn’t our deeds that make us righteous before His sight. May we be a people who seek the Lord and turn to Him regularly, and allow His truth and the immeasurable kindness shown to us upon the cross shape the way that we live. This week’s study questions can be found HERE.

A Matter of the Heart

Join us this week as we continue our study in Romans by reflecting upon the law and the identity marker of circumcision in Romans 2:17-29. May we continue to rely upon the Lord as the source of our boasting, as He teaches us what it means to shine and guide and embody the truth of our salvation. May He give us a new heart and a willing spirit to obey Him as we turn from hypocrisy and live out our faith boldly in our world. Study questions can be found HERE.

Join us as Community Church celebrates Holy Week, following in the steps of Jesus. We begin the celebration on March 29, Palm Sunday, with one Sunday service at 10:00AM. Join us for a potluck following this family service, bring salad, potato dishes or dessert to share! Then on Friday, April 3, we host a Good Friday Worship Service at 6PM, contemplating upon the sufferings of our Lord. On Easter Sunday, April 5, at 6:30AM, we invite you to gather at the beach straight out from West Washington Street for our annual outdoor Community Easter Sunrise Service. We are not able to hold the service at Ecola State Park this year, due to the park being closed currently. A little later, at 9AM and at 11AM we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ at our two Easter Sunday Services, with our traditional ‘Flowering of the Cross’. We can’t wait to celebrate the new life we have in Jesus Christ together!

A New Heart and a Powerful Witness

This Sunday we continue our study in the book of Romans by reflecting upon the themes of judgment and hypocrisy, kindness and repentance, evident in Romans 2:1-16. In His righteousness, God shows no partiality and calls all of us to receive the Good News of His salvation. Let us hear the word and put it into action, letting it change us, transform us and shape the way that we see and live into the world. Study questions can be found HERE.

Revelation and Repentance

This week we move from a revelation of righteousness into a revelation of wrath. Romans 1:18-32 remains one of the most challenging depictions of our fallenness, but in the midst of this downward spiral we recognize our need for a savior. God continues to reveal himself to us in creation, but still we make the fools exchange of trading the glory of the Lord for the things that He created. As we listen to the truth of the Gospel, may it transform our vices into testimonies of redemption. Study questions can be found HERE.

We will walk on the “Roman Road,” focusing on Romans 1:16, one of the great memory verses from Romans. We’ll find our bearings and direction in life by giving thanks, discovering our spiritual gifts, encouraging one another, and putting our faith in God’s faithfulness and God’s power revealed in Jesus Christ and the Gospel.
