On September 29, 2018 at 7pm, Steinway piano artist, Stephen Beus will perform an all-classical piano recital, playing music of Scarlati and Prokofiev. This first concert will be a Memorial Benefit, with $10 donation at the door to benefit Cannon Beach Food Pantry, in memory of Tom Drumheller, who died in September 2017. Stephen Beus, an internationally acclaimed Steinway Piano Artist and a long-time friend of Tom Drumheller, currently teaches piano performance at Brigham Young University, with recitals and performances across the United States as well as performances in recent years in Kazakhstan, Russia, Finland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Georgia, China, France, Italy, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Morocco. Fanfare magazine writes: “His playing is strikingly original and . . . he has an interpretive voice all his own. . . Above all, his playing is so natural as to seem effortless and the sound he produces has extraordinary richness and depth, not quite like anyone else’s.”
On Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 7pm also at Cannon Beach Community Church, the Steinway Piano Concert Series will feature Teresa Renee, a Portland based singer, pianist performing jazz, film score music, piano solos, and more. Teresa Renee is a graduate of Portland State in music/theater, recently featured at Cannon Beach Gallery, will be playing a benefit concert, $10 donation door, with all proceeds to the Cannon Beach Food Pantry. This concert is open to the public.
On Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7pm, the Steinway Piano Concert Series at Cannon Beach Community Church features solo jazz pianist David Robinson performing music by Italian pianist/composer Ludovico Einaudi, with a nature photo-show projected on the big-screen, featuring 2018 photos of the Tour of Mont Blanc by local nature photographer Thomas Robinson. This show, titled “White Clouds over Mont Blanc,” occurs during Cannon Beach’s Stormy Weather Arts Festival. This is a benefit concert for Cannon Beach Food Pantry open to the public, with a donation of $10 at the door.
Also in November, on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 2pm, at Cannon Beach Community Church, the North West Piano Trio & Friends will perform a program titled, "Three, Four, Five,” with selections from Dohnanyi's Serenade for String Trio in C Major, Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G Minor, and Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A Major. The North West Piano Trio and Friends features Heather Mastel-Lipson, violin; Heather Hillebrand, cello; Susan McDaniel, Piano; Nelly Kovalev, violin; and Hillary Oseas, viola. The Northwest Piano Trio, founded in fall 2014, is based in Portland, Oregon. They are passionate about collaboration with artists of other disciplines to provide unique performances that give listeners a contemporary perspective on a non-contemporary art form. This concert is free and open to the public.
Finally, on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 3pm, the Cannon Beach Steinway Piano Concert Series final concert features Astoria Pianist Jennifer Goodenberger, playing Mozart and holiday favorites, along with Christmas Songs and carols. This concert is free and open to the public. All concerts in the 2nd Annual Steinway Piano Concert Series are at Cannon Beach Community Church located at 132 E. Washington, Cannon Beach, Oregon
